Front Entry

The extreme change in grade in the front yard of this North Shore residence posed a challenge in the design of its entrance. The steps were divided into smaller groups by introducing landings between each set; thus eliminating an overbearing view of one large set of steps and making the steps themselves safer. Each landing provides the user with a different close-up view or varied vistas of the landscape. A mix of evergreen and flowering trees and shrubs was used to maintain a year round interest.
